DUBAI: Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan tweeted on Monday that he had had a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and the prospects for peace in the region.

Netanyahu said in a statement he invited the crown prince to Israel, and that he also received the same invitation, although no dates were confirmed.
The Israeli Cabinet, meanwhile has approved the normalization deal with the UAE. It will submit the agreement for parliamentary ratification.
The two sides also affirmed that the normalization of relations was a step to enhance regional peace, stability and security, and will pave the way for a new phase of cooperation, according to a report by UAE state news agency WAM.

They also expressed appreciation for the role played by the US and President Donald Trump in reaching a peace accord.
